A newly automated two-step heparin assay that can be adapated for use in several different automatic coagulation machines. Used primarily for low dose heparin monitoring such as dialysis and pediatric patients, it has also been validated in thrombosis prophylaxis in pregnancy, as the assay is not affected by hormonal changes common in pregnant women.
