NEW Point-of-Care Assays
The newest development in human coagulation testing by Heptest Laboratories, these are true point-of-care assays that can be performed in the doctor's office, small clinic, emergency deparment, operating room or in the field.
Heptest POC-Hi
This is a quantitative anti-Factor Xa point-of-care (POC) assay for accurately measuring high levels of unfractionated heparin in citrated whole blood during cardiopulmonary bypass surgery (CPB). It uses just 500 microliters of whole citrated blood and delivers results in less than two minutes (most cases), so monitoring and neutralization is fast and easy.
In a recent phase I and phase II clinical trial on 125 patients undergoing elective CBP surgery, it was demonstrated that during CPB there was no significant relationship between ACT and whole blood or plasma heparin levels determined by Heptest POC-Hi and the chromogenic anti-Xa assay. In contrast, Heptest POC-Hi and anti-Xa plasma levels correlated strongly during CPB surgery. Heptest POC-Hi is not influenced by aprotinin and hemodilution.*
Heptest POC-Lo
This is a quantitative anti-Factor Xa point-of-care (POC) assay for accurately measuring low levels of active heparin, low molecular weight heparin or direct inhibitors in U/mL blood, allowing full monitoring during low dose heparin therapy. It uses just 500 microliters of whole citrated blood and delivers results in less than two minutes (most cases).
