Heptest
Heptest heparin assay - the rapid one-stage clotting assay, provides better monitoring for better patient care. Heptest provides a sensitive, simple, rapid and convenient in vitro quantification of heparin and heparin-like substances in plasma.
Heptest is a simple test based on sound biochemistry and provides clinically relevant results which are contained in one critical number that gives a total and precise picture of your patient's anticoagulation status. Heptest monitors clotting in one stage, in one tube, in three steps - manually or automatically.
So quick and easy, you can monitor at a moment's notice with just one drop of whole blood or plasma. Any laboratory technician, nurse or doctor can perform the Heptest, allowing you to monitor whenever and as often as needed so that the patient will be safely anticoagulated.
Heptest results have been shown to have a high correlation with the anti-Xa chromogenic assay for heparin and low molecular weight heparin, as well as with the anti-II chromogenic assay for dermatan sulfates.* In fact, Heptest has become a standard laboratory assay in the clinical trials of these anticoagulants.
Heptest measures heparin more accurately than the a-PTT (activated partial thromboplastin time) because it is less influenced by high Factor VIII levels and lupus anticoagulant. Heptest sensitivity of 0.015 anticoagulant unit/mL of plasma is unmatched, as is the value of its quantitative results.
Compared to the chromogenic methods, Heptest offers higher sensitivity and the advantage of using whole blood at substantially lower costs. All things considered, there is no better anti-coagulant family of tests on the market today.
