Heptest-Stat
A modified version of the original Heptest Heparin Assay,
Heptest-Stat is a newly automated two-step assay that can be adapted to many different automatic coagulation machines. The modification eliminates the original test's 120 second incubation step of the test plasma and the Factor Xa.
Used primarily for low-dose heparin monitoring such as dialysis and pediatric patients, Heptest-Stat has also been validated in thrombosis prophylaxis in pregnant women, and is not affected by hormonal changes common in pregnant patients. This assay is designed to be used primarily in laboratory settings.
The following is an abstract from an article recently published by Professor Demple et.al: "Comparison of unfractionated heparin, dalteprin, enoxaparin, naddroparin, and fondaparinux on Heptest-Stat clotting time of normal plasma and plasma from first, second and third trimester pregnant women." read article
